Many people have two different makeup foundations in their makeup bag – matte for summer, and dewy finish for winter. I barely go through one tube of foundation a year, so use a sneaky hack to transition my matte summer foundation to dewy winter foundation (using only drug store beauty products).
Here’s the low down for you folk(ses):
Step 1: Moisturise your skin well.
I have been using the same BodyShop’s Vitamin E intense cream for years. Use whatever moisturiser works for you, but just make sure that you give your skin at least 15 minutes to fully absorb the moisturiser before applying foundation. When applied too soon, moisturiser dilutes the foundation, costing you precious coverage and longevity. So wait, give it time to absorb, and opt for a non-greasy moisturiser.
Step 2 – Milawat. Yes, it’s time to mix.
Add a liquid illuminator to your foundation. I use Maybelline’s Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation (220) and mix NYX’s Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator Highlighter (sunbeam) to it. I usually wing the ratio, but a ballpark would be 7/10 foundation and 3/10 illuminator. Whether you add both on application (like brush or beauty blender) together or transfer product on to your face one by one, the only advice would be to blend them together (and not one after the other).
Step 3: Use highlighter.
On your cheekbones, bridge and tip of the nose, and lip bow. In this picture, I am wearing trend IT UP’s Natural Radiant Highlighter.
Step 4: Use a dewy finish setting spray.
Like NYX’s Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray.
