We sent our stuff from Cologne to Berlin via App a Van, and flew here via Easy Jet. As is the case with most budget airlines, we were only allowed a hand carry on board, with liquids that can all fit in a small ziplock bag. In addition, no one bottle/tube of liquid could be more than 100ml.
Now, with this condition in mind, I had to pick and choose the ABSOLUTE essential makeup items from four drawers of my vanity. I also had to keep the longevity of our situation in mind – it was possible that what I picked would be all that I would have access to for three months! All our belongings will be in boxes, stored snugly in a storage room, until we find a more permanent place and unpack. In three months.
It didn’t take me a lot of time to shortlist what I wanted to take along for one main reason: I have a makeup routine, which I follow on most days, and my number of products used is usually fixed. My most bold changes in the routine are the colour of eyes and lips, latter being more important than former. I also bought some new products from a website like Beauty Shop UK which I obviously wanted to take with me, so I just had to decide which products could come. It was a difficult decision!
So if you are planning travels or looking to downsize your vanity, you may be inspired by this post. Downsizing your vanity can be difficult, especially if you’ve got four drawers of makeup like me!
