We are about to hit 40°C in Germany, and legit freaking. I have seen worse, but never without a ceiling fan or air conditioner. So this is going to be one fine experience.
Since the onslaught of summer, I have had to change my products because the heat on the outside and moisture in most of my products just don’t seem to like each other much. As I upgrade my stash, I thought to share it here for you as well. As summer is likely to last only a few weeks, I prefer pocket-friendly products, which are usually available at DM, Rossmann or Douglas.
So, here it is – summer beauty essentials:
Malu Wilz Sunscreen for face, with SPF 50
There is a different sunscreen for face and other body parts. I haven’t respected this fact for 30 years, but am now going to. Being 30 can do all sorts of crazy things to you.
Malu Wilz Sunscreen for face has a summery fragrance, is light, and protects against UVA and UVB rays with SPF 50. It has Hyaluronic acid for moisture, Vitamin E as antioxidant, and is paraben free.

trend IT UP Oil-Free Makeup
No makeup makeup is perfect for summer, so I’d use something like trend IT UP Oil-Free Makeup for conceal shiny areas. It has moisture-retaining Pentavitin and softening mineral pigments, which mattify without drying.

Mary Kay CC Cream
CC Cream with SPF 15 is light, with natural finish while correcting irregularities. The formula protects against damage, hydrates for hours, and softens the appearance of blemishes and redness.

Revlon Colour Stay “Insider”Eyeshadow Palette
Light, shimmery colours work for both pale AND tan skin. I read otherwise all my life, until I tried a flimsy layer of shimmery beige and black eyeliner. It instantly brightens your face.
Revlon has launched three palette recently, and I would usually buy Original for day time and Enigma for night. But this time, I am going for Insider, which has pale (beige, lilac and soft coral|) as well as brick brown and chocolate for smokey effect. My only tip for tan ladies is when using light eyeshadows, stick to the eyelid and below the crease.

Mary Kay Beauty Blotters (oil absorbent towels)
The powder-free wipes absorb excess oil without altering make-up, leaving a soft, matte finish. They reduce shine and thus help to keep the make-up fresh longer. Suitable for sensitive skin. Clinically tested for skin tolerance and allergies.

Three different sprays, Biotic Fresh, CityProtect Complex and Glowing Summer, to freshen up in a spray. Especially useful for those working long hours, travelling or stuck in stuffy environment. All three sprays contain hyaluronic acid for a kick of freshness, balance skin’s pH level, protect against environmental stress and give a little extra glow. Tip for an extra dose of coolness: Store the sprays in the fridge and use them chilled.

Charlotte Meentzen’s Aloe Vera Senstiv (after sun body lotion)
Skincare after is as important as before sun exposure. The refreshing, quickly absorbed after sun body lotion gives sun-soaked skin pleasant relaxation, preserves its elasticity and pampers it with intensive moisture. Cooling aloe vera and liquorice root have a calming effect. Shea and almond butter as well as sesame oil give a supple-soft skin feeling.
