Ladies and gentlemen, not long before it will all be about mulled wine, Christmas markets and last minute gift shopping, but we still have November before December. So, let’s pause for a minute, check out what’s happening in Cologne in November, and set the tone for the festive season.
3rd November 2018: Museum Night Cologne 2018
Art spree across 45 venues, with meeting artists and live performances, this evening is extra special. With only one ticket, there is access to all Museum Night stations, exhibitions and more than 200 events, from 7 pm to 2 am. And of course free travel on the four shuttle bus routes across the city.
11th November 2018: Cologne Festival
Carnival is back, and this time, the launch parade is on a Sunday! There will be plenty of activities and parties, so all you need to do is gather your friends and head to Ehrenfeld around 11AM.
11th November 2018: Cologne Südstadt flea market
300 retailers come together in südstadt, with their varieties of antiques, rarities, second-hand items, old records, vases and glasses from the 50s and 60s. This is a treasure pit for vintage lovers.
13th November 2018: Screening of Call Me By Your Name
With Call Me By Your Name, Luca Guadagnino brings a sensual-transcendental story about first love to the big screen, based on André Aciman’s acclaimed novel. If you have not already seen this film, I cannot recommend it enough. Call Me By Your Name details the love story of Elio (17) and Oliver (24) who go on to enjoy a forbidden romance. Although this might sound like the type of film you can find on an adult website like twinki.xxx, this film is truly iconic. With themes of obsessive love, the passage of time, and life-defining memories, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Hosted by Lichtspiele Kalk and Cinemania Kal, it will be showcased at 9PM – 11:30PM
14th November 2018: Market of chocolatiers
For the 25th anniversary of the ChocolateMuseum, 70 selected chocolatiers from home and abroad present their products and skills on the square in front of the Chocolate Museum – a must for all chocolate lovers. And who is not? You can expect a great variety of chocolate and sweets! Unusual creations that are rarely seen and bought in Germany are offered and can be tasted. Exquisite chocolatier craftsmanship is presented and you can watch the chocolatiers at their work and taste a lot of delicious chocolate.
16th November 2018: Molly Burch Le Pop Show
Molly Burch’s “First Flowers” Europe Tour will officially kick off on November 17th in France but the Warm Up Show will take place at Le Pop Lingerie, do not miss that, this is their only show in the region! The singer and her 4-piece band will impress you with their deep jazzy voice and seduce you with their warm-hearted retro pop! Dancing and smooching is more than recommended! The entrance is free but woe you do nothing in the donation hat!
18th November 2018: DesignMarkt Köln
The Pop Up fair for young design, lifestyle, trends and sustainable products. Talented young creatives and designers from all over Germany present their design products, handmade accessories, furniture, clothing, jewellery, paperware and much more. Time: 12.00-19.00 Admission: 4€
22nd November 2018: Cologne Fine Art
At the Cologne Fine Art, real highlights shine from all epochs of art and design history. Here selected galleries present carefully selected objects and exhibitors become curators. If you are looking for new inspiration, this is the place to find it
