Finally, the wait is over! Sephora, the french chain of cosmetics, has arrived to Germany, courtesy Galeria Kaufhof. It was launched in stores in Munich on 29 June 2017, and is available online for shipping across Germany.
When I moved here in early 2016, I couldn’t believe that there wasn’t a single Sephora outlet in all of Germany. Who doesn’t have Sephora??! It’s Germany – they need to have at least one for public image’s sake. Elo, a super talented beauty blogger from Köln mentioned that the closest alternative Germany has is Douglas, but I found it missing so many brands that were household names in Dubai.
I am not a makeup hoarder (by generous standards), but I have a few favourites that I am loyal to, and buy one tube after another. And Sephora had been my one stop solution for all beauty and skin care needs. I think beauty fairies finally got tired of my whining, and decided to send Sephora my way – all the way to Deutschland!
The first in-store launch has been in Munich, with plans to roll-out across the country (including Cologne, Stuttgart, Mainz, Hanover, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Oberhausen, Aachen, Wiesbaden, Bonn, Berlin, Hamburg and Heidelberg). Along with Sephora’s eponymous beauty brand, Galeria Kaufhof will now also carry Marc Jacobs Beauty, Make Up For Ever, Becca, HUDA BEAUTY, Kat Von D and Too Faced.
If you are a Sephora newbie, let me help you with my top 8 products from Sephora and other brands launched under the umbrella, for you to get started with. I have personally used the below, and repurchased most of them (especially no. 1).
