Everyone clear your calendars. Fashion Forward Dubai (FFWD) will be back for its eighth season October 20th-23rd at the Dubai Design District (d3). FFWD is THE fashion platform for designers in the region, and you can expect to see everything from ready-to-wear to couture to accessories and jewellery as designers unveil their Spring Summer 2017 collections.

As a guest, you’ll go to Hai d3, a space that was custom built for FFWD, where you’ll get to experience catwalk shows, listen to presentations from regional designers, learn from talks and panel discussions led by industry professionals, and browse accessory and jewellery collections at any time. You’ll also be able to spend some time walking around d3, which is a really cool space in Dubai that has been working to bring together all sorts of innovators and talent to create a platform to showcase regional creativity. There are also huge plans for d3 – in the next three years, the space will be expanded to one million square feet and will have a bustling waterfront with boutiques, event spaces, and all sorts of other amenities.

As a designer, FFWD offers even more possibilities. Last year, several designers were picked up to be showcased on Moda Operandi, an online fashion store that allows customers to pre-order designer pieces immediately after their runway shows. One designer, Rula Galayini, was even invited to reveal her signature handbags at Galleries Lafayette Haussman in Paris. In fact FFWD supports their selected designers by having an event called “Day at d3” where they connect buyers and other industry professionals directly with the designers themselves, allowing for so many of these great opportunities to be made. (Also they are currently going through the designer registration process for FFWD 8, so if you are a regional designer who is interested, check out before July 15th!)

We cannot wait for FFWD 8 to get started, and we promise to keep you updated as soon as we learn more information about this year’s designers, runway shows, and other events!
