In an understated, off-handed manner, Karl Lagerfeld paid tribute to his German lineage and Einstein with his latest collection for Fendi. The collection that walked down the Milan Fashion Week runway visualised gravitational waves – wavy patterns on a Dalmatian-spotted fur jacket to the leather that rippled weirdly round the thigh-high boots. The collection was rich in texture (the fur, obviously), fabric (sumptuous coppery Jacquard) and detail (the floral motifs that were lifted from 18th century Japanese botanical paintings).
Lagerfeld is very particular about his waves and doesn’t appreciate them swapped for ruffles, as reported by BoF. evil is in the details after all.
