Bebe showcased its collection for fall 2015 at a media preview at La Residence, organised by Brag in collaboration with McCollins Media. Like many of Brag’s infamous events, it was a buzzing party with an open bar, glamorously dressed attendees and cameras flashing incessantly.
Amongst all the glitz and glamour, Bebe showcased it’s collection on an elevated runway. It was styled to perfection, with carefully selected accessories, shoes and hairstyles. Despite the effort in completing the look, nothing could contest with the collection for attention.
Now about the collection – it is dominated with a bold colour palette, with hues ranging from aqua and tea pink to magenta, forest green and black. One of the things I love about Bebe is it’s preference of print and lace over embellishment. The understated statement surely speaks volumes, and allows you to focus on silhouette, tailoring and leaves a lot of room to create a bespoke look.
Key style statements from the collection include bodycon silhouettes, be it skirts, dresses or jumpsuits. There are many treats for faux fur fans, which makes an appearance on jackets, skirts and shoes. Double layering is another favoured trend, with tulle layering atop printed skirts. There are some obvious inspirations from Versace when it comes to prints, both in monochrome and rainbow delights.
Verdict: It is certainly one of the best collections Bebe has put forth, with a focus on all the key trends for AW’15.
