Trends from Emmy’s 2015 red carpet

Emmy’s 2015 took over the world of fashion and entertainment last night, with some raving about the evening and other questioning it’s existence. All we, at Cherry Cross, were interested in however was the red carpet. It has never been a glamourous affair but there are always a few that make an effort to make it an event worth paparazzi and features.

So without further ado, here we present some of the most emininet trends from Emmy’s red carpet:

You can never go wrong with a bit of sparkle, be it in the traditional silvery tones, like Kerry Washington in a Marc Jacobs spring 2016 dress or an alternative flair like Claire Danes in pansy purple Prada.

If black and shimmer aren’t your style, take cue from these beauties on how to do the red carpet right in monochromatic fashion. Sarah Hyland hits the glamour mark in Zac Posen, Taylor Schilling keeps it fun and flirty in a summery Stella McCartney.

To pull off black on a red carpet is no small feat; while the colour tones the look down, it burdens structure, tailoring and silhouette to up their game and steal the limelight. Lady Gaga (surprising) choose a beautifully tailored Brandon Maxwell gown, Taraji P. Henson strutted in a custom Alexander Wang dress, with sleek hair and strappy sandals and Julianne Hough chose Marchesa to add an element of fun to an otherwise sexy number.

Nothing says femme fatale like a scarlet gown on the red carpet – it s for a woman who is not afraid to flaunt it. While we have already seen the likes of Laura Prepon’s Christian Siriano gold brocade, sweetheart neckline gown, Ariel Winter’s structured dress by Romona Keveza is certainly refreshing, and a trend to look out for during cooler months. Oh wait, we live in Dubai. Scratch that.

While not a raging trend, the below ladies look too pretty to be overlooked. We particularly liked Jackie Cruz’s virginal Christina Siriano dress, with ombre and subtle metallic bling. Love!
