At the Dune AW'15 launch event.

This season, Dune London draws focus to reinvention, with evident influences from modern icons.

It features a variety of textures and colours, with nostalgia of seventies to lend some drama.

The ‘Modern Icon’ collection introduces clean, soft lines and minimal profiles. An understated palette of grey, foundation and winter blush are paired with soft leathers and thick cross-toe straps to create a key styling element.

The 70’s Edit has an uptown feel, with a rich, autumn palette. It has abundance of warm honey, chocolate brown and fox red, with playful styling elements like fringes and tassels.

Drama comes into limelight with Midnight Renaissance. It is created with deep, luxurious tones, like midnight blue, Bordeaux red, dusted metallic and shimmering lurex, to evoke subtle glamour. Intricate embroidery is enhanced with detailed stitching; weaving metallic threads, gem stones and beads together on high shine satin. Also, there are statement embellishments feature on block heels, and straps for added opulence.

Mesh is reinvented for the upcoming season, adding sheerness to delicate fabrications, while lace and brocade play into the Victoriana trend. In contrast, glossy patent and croc effect leathers adds a boldness to day-to-night dressing.

Dune London international brand manager Angela Chiu flew down from London for the launch of Dune’s AW’15 collection and I had the pleasure of not only meeting her but was also walked through the collection by Chiu, highlighting trends for the fall season.

The event was held at The Fridge, Al Serkal Avenue, on August 18 2015.
