Harper’s Bazaar inaugurated the ‘World of Fashion’ with House of Bazaar at Mall of the Emirates, showcasing the trendiest in health and fitness, fashion, beauty and art.
I had the rare privilege to tour the dream house with the team behind region’s premium magazine, and here is what it’s like to be in a house curated by the best.
Our first stop was the health and fitness station, where Harper’s Bazaar Deputy Editor Emily Baxter, Food Editor Dalia Dogmoch Soubra and Features Writer Maddison Glendinning greeted us with sparkling smiles and healthy glow. We sampled the green juice, made of all things you’d never seen me close season – broccoli, green peppers, kale and green apples. But trust me when I say this, it was delicious and refreshing. I might just attempt making it myself over the weekend. Yes, it was that good.
Then we went on to balance off the healthy potion with guilty sweet pleasure, but there was none to be had. Cupcakes by Dalia were made of healthy ingredients like flex seeds and nuts, without any compromise on taste. My friend shamelessly went to take another one, and I regretted later for not following her footsteps.
Maddi told us all about what’s in vogue for athleisure, so good ol’ gym routines get a fashionable makeover.
People had to be nudged to leave the room. It was a closet of your dreams – from exclusive pieces by Stella McCartney, Georgio Armani and Manolo Blahnik to the must-have trendy pieces for the upcoming season. Harper’s Bazaar Editor in Chief Louise Nichol and Rosemin Manji walked us through the curated pieces, making us green with envy and tempted to openly drool.
A walk through Armani’s best sellers and new launches in the beauty segment, and a quick tutorial for refreshing your look during the day. Note to self – need to buy Armani’s foundation pronto.
Elseed Art Gallery:
From slums of Brazil to Louis Vuitton’s exclusive scarves, Elseed’s graffiti has been to many places. He has a unique way of combining art and fashion, and his graffiti resembled Arabic scriptures and calligraphy to my novice eyes. He is in town until Friday, so I strongly suggest you drop by to check out his creations at Mall of the Emirates.
House of Bazaar will be stationed at Mall of the Emirates all the way to Saturday, September 19 2015, and it is an experience you must not miss.
